How the race works
Gates, bell, laps, photo finish. Once a day, every day.
1 · Gates open — 20:00 UTC, right after the previous flag
As soon as a race settles, the next one opens. Bets go into the lane pools in USDG until the bell. The cycle repeats every day; no day is skipped.
2 · The bell — 13:30 UTC
Gates close. The contract reads each lane's opening reference: the 30-minute TWAP ending at 13:30 UTC on the stock/USDG Uniswap v3 pool.
3 · Racing — until 20:00 UTC
Ten laps across six and a half hours. The site moves each racer with the live Robinhood price; the leader wears the crown. Nothing settles during the race, so a lead changes until the last minute.
4 · Photo finish — 20:00 to 20:20 UTC
The close reference is the 30-minute TWAP ending at 20:00 UTC. Score = close ÷ open − 1. The highest score wins; exact ties split the pot. The keeper calls settle, the winning lane is paid pro-rata, and the House fee moves to the House wallet.
Derby's own clock
The bell and the flag are Derby's clock, not an exchange's. Stock Tokens trade on their USDG pools around the clock, so both TWAPs are readable on any date — the race runs on the days the stock market is shut exactly as it does on the days it is open.
